The National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe at Marytown is a ministry of the Conventual Franciscan Friars of St. Bonaventure Province. The shrine is dedicated to promoting the witness and life of St. Maximilian Kolbe, who was martyred in the Holocaust at the Auschwitz concentration camp.

The Shrine prayer space reincorporates key artifacts from the original Shrine on 63rd Street. The reliquary containing the first class relic of St. Rita dates back to 1906. The statue of St. Rita dates back to 1909 and was one of the first statues with glass eyes to give the statue a realistic appearance.

the Miraculous Medal

Since the building of the Shrine Chapel in 1929, the church of St. Mary's of the Barrens has served as the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Its architecture and decorations reflect its long and interesting history. Over the main altar of the church is a large painting of the Assumption of our Lady, indicating the original edifice dedication.

St. Katharine Drexel

The Shrine to St. Katharine Drexel is located In the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. The original altar was donated in the 19th century by Saint Katharine and her sisters as a memorial to their deceased parents. Her sacred remains were translated to the Cathedral Basilica on August 2, 2018. The new tomb was solemnly installed on November 18, 2018.
